“… today I have become your Father.”
– Psalm 2:7
Chosen. Joy floods my heart this morning to know God chose me. This faith that sustains me and brings ineffable joy is a gift freely given, freely accepted. It’s a bit of circular logic but even the faith to accept it, to believe, is the gift itself.
Adopted. I was a wild spiritual orphan running free in the world. A wild olive branch which has been grafted into the living family tree of God.
One. More than just chosen or adopted. I am one with God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. God is in me. I am in God. We are one — so that the world may believe.
This is the mystery of the Gospel.
Life is not a problem to be solved,
but a mystery to be lived.
– Gabriel Marcel
