Remembering 2014

Help us, O Lord, to grasp the significance of your wonderful works and remember your many acts of faithful love.

Let us slow down on this last day of 2014 to truly grasp the significance of all that God has done in us and through us this past year. May we remember his many acts of faithful love and rejoice in his blessings.

The Source of Sound

“Over the margins of life comes a whisper, a faint call, a premonition of richer living which we know we are passing by. We have hints that there is a way of live vastly richer and deeper than all this hurried existence, a life of unhurried serenity and peace and power. If only we could slip over into that Center! If only we could find the Silence which is the source of sound!”

Picking Apart the Gospel

Lord, we pray that rather than picking apart your Gospel to suit ourselves, we would pick apart the twisted assumption that bread is only for the fortunate, water only for the lucky, and freedom only for the strong.
Amen.
